On Wednesday at 7:43 a.m. an updated blowing dust advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Thursday between noon and 9 p.m. for Western El Paso County and Eastern/Central El Paso County.

“Visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust expected,” comments the NWS. “Subsequent Dust Storm Warnings may be issued for visibility less than a quarter mile.”

“Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility and strong winds, especially for high profile vehicles,” describes the NWS. “A Blowing Dust Advisory means that blowing dust will restrict visibilities. Travelers are urged to use caution.”
