Aston Villa have gone through a tough spell in the Women’s Super League dam with a run of six successive defeats. But after the 2-1 win against Liverpool, things are looking brighter.

Aston Villa clinched the game in the second half after a goalless first.

With four games remaining, in the qualifiers Liverpool are in fifth place in the table while Aston Villa are in 11th.

The previous outing between the teams ended in a 2-1 away win for Liverpool in November.

Liverpool play Brighton on 19 April, Tottenham on 26 April and Everton (home) on 3 May. Aston Villa’s next opponents are Tottenham on 19 April, Arsenal on 26 April and West Ham (away) on 3 May.
