COTACACHI, Imbabura — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Cotacachi on Tuesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 02:22 UTC (21:22 local time). The epicenter was approximately 4 km north of Cotacachi, at a depth of 124 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
