The Wolverines took the lead late in the first period, with a goal from Toby Carlson. Taisetsu Ushio and Brock Devlin assisted.
Cole Christian scored late in the second period, assisted by Taisetsu Ushio and Camden Shasby.
The Ice Dogs narrowed the gap to 2-1 early in the third period when Gage Leonard netted one, assisted by Adam Timm and Thomas Corneillie.
Taisetsu Ushio increased the lead to 3-1 with a goal late in the third, assisted by Samuel Evert and Cole Christian.
Jackson Fox narrowed the gap to 3-2 with a goal less than a minute later, assisted by Kaycee Coyle and Wyatt Carlson.
