West Texas placed under a fire weather watch Sunday, enhanced fire threat

On Saturday at 7:27 a.m. the National Weather Service released a fire weather watch valid for Sunday between noon and 10 p.m. The watch is for Reeves County Plains and Marfa Plateau as well as Loving County.

“Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” explains the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
