Update: Beach hazards statement active for Orange County Coastal until Wednesday night

An updated beach hazards statement was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 8:53 p.m. in effect until Wednesday at 9 p.m. for Orange County Coastal.

“Elevated surf of 4 to 6 ft, with sets to 7 feet expected,” explains the NWS. “A 2 to 3 feet swell from 190 to 200 degrees with a 16 to 18 second period will prevail. Highest surf will occur on south/southwest facing beaches.”

“Strong rip currents will create hazardous swimming conditions,” adds the NWS. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
