Update: Beach hazards statement issued for Orange County Coastal from Sunday to Wednesday

An updated beach hazards statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 9:48 p.m. valid from Sunday 6 a.m. until Wednesday 9 p.m. for Orange County Coastal.

“Elevated surf of 4 to 6 ft, with sets to 7 feet expected,” says the NWS. “A 2 to 3 feet swell from 190 to 200 degrees with a 16 to 18 second period. Highest surf will occur on south/southwest facing beaches.”

“Strong rip currents will create hazardous swimming conditions,” states the NWS. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
