Colby Bishop scores three in Portsmouth’s win over Norwich City

Colby Bishop struck a hat-trick as Portsmouth beat Norwich City 5-3 away in the Championship. Regan Poole and Matt Ritchie scored the remaining goal for the away side, while Norwich City’s goal came through Marcondes, Sargent and Stacey.

Portsmouth started the match well and took the lead when Colby Bishop netted after 15 minutes, making it 1-0.

The Canaries equalised to make it 1-1, when Josh Sargent found the net, in the 21st minute.

Portsmouth took the lead again, as Matt Ritchie scored, with an assist by Josh Murphy, in the 39th minute.

In the 45th minute Colby Bishop increased the lead for Portsmouth from the penalty spot.

Straight after the break, Colby Bishop found the net and increased the team’s lead. Bishop thereby completed his hattrick.

The Yellows’ Jack Stacey also reduced the score for Norwich City in the 64th minute.

Regan Poole increased the lead in the 71st minute.

The goal that reduced the score to 5-3 came in extra time, when Emiliano Marcondes scored for the Canaries, with an assist by Jacob Wright.

The result means the fourth game in a row without a win for Norwich City.

With three games remaining, Norwich City are in 13th place in the table while Portsmouth are in 18th.

The previous outing between the teams ended in a 0-0 draw, with Portsmouth at home in December.

The next Championship games for Norwich City are Millwall (away) on 20 April, Middlesbrough (away) on 25 April and Cardiff (home) on 2 May. Portsmouth play Watford (home) on 20 April, Sheffield Wednesday (away) on 25 April and Hull (home) on 2 May.
