The Corpus Christi IceRays defeated the Colorado Grit 7-3 on Saturday, April 11, 2025.
The IceRays took the lead in the first period, with a goal from Nick Sinani. Matthew Green and Michael Valdez assisted.
The IceRays’ Pierson Sobush made it 2-0 halfway through the first period, assisted by Troy Pelton.
The IceRays increased the lead to 3-0 in the very last seconds of the first period, with a goal from Carter Krenke, assisted by Cooper Conway and Stepan Kuznetsov.
The IceRays scored four goals in second period an held the lead 7-0 going in to the second break.
The Grit narrowed the gap to 7-1 early in the third period when George Poirier netted one, assisted by Alexander German.
The Grit narrowed the gap again in the middle of the third when George Poirier found the back of the net, assisted by William Johnson and Alexander German.
The Grit’s William Johnson narrowed the gap again, assisted by George Poirier and Evan Smutney at 17:01 into the third period.
The IceRays chalked up four straight wins.
