Just two minutes later later Donyell Malen increased the lead for Aston Villa with an assist by Ian Maatsen.

With 57 minutes on the clock, the Nottingham’s Jota Silva found the net following a Neco Williams assist to pull one back for Nottingham Forest.

The result leaves Aston Villa in sixth place, while Nottingham Forest are in third place.

The previous outing between the teams ended in a 2-1 home win for Nottingham Forest in December.
