Southampton will be relegated from the Premier League. This is all too clear after another defeat, 3-1 away to Tottenham.
The Spurs started the match well and took the lead when Brennan Johnson netted after 13 minutes, making it 1-0.
In the 42nd minute Brennan Johnson increased the lead for Tottenham with an assist by James Maddison.
The goal that reduced the score to 2-1 came in stoppage time, when Mateus Fernandes found the net for the the Saints, with an assist by Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Tottenham 3-1 straight after when Mathys Henri Tel scored from the penalty spot, in the 91st minute.
It was Southampton’s seventh game in a row without a win.
After the game, Tottenham now find themselves in 14th place in the table.
The previous outing between the teams ended in a 5-0 away win for Tottenham in December.
Tottenham play Wolverhampton on 12 April, Nottingham Forest on 20 April and Liverpool (away) on 26 April. Southampton’s next opponents are Aston Villa on 11 April, West Ham on 18 April and Fulham (home) on 25 April.
