On Tuesday at 12:21 p.m. the National Weather Service released a dust storm warning in effect until 2:15 p.m. for Loving and Reeves counties.

“At 12:19 p.m., an area of blowing dust restricting the visibility to less than one quarter of a mile was observed on County Road 300 north of Mentone,” states the NWS. “US Highway 285, State Highway 302 as well as other local roads in Reeves and Loving counties could be affected.”

Locations impacted by the warning include Slash Ranch, Red Bluff Reservoir, Mentone, Red Bluff and Orla.

“Dangerous life-threatening travel,” explains the NWS.
