Corpus Christi IceRays beat in overtime the El Paso Rhinos

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw the Corpus Christi IceRays come away with the close win over the El Paso Rhinos on Friday, March 27, 2025.

The final score was 6-5.

Corpus Christi’s Raymond Perrault scored the game-winning goal.

The IceRays opened strong, at the beginning of the game with Cooper Conway scoring in the first period.

The Rhinos’ Jacob Solano tied it up halfway through the first period, assisted by Rasmus Nousiainen and Jakub Jerman.

Five goals were scored in the second period, and the IceRays led 4-3 going in to the third period.

The IceRays increased the lead to 5-3, only 42 seconds into the third when Pierson Sobush beat the goalie again, assisted by Michael Valdez and Cody Kempf.

Kyle Arias narrowed the gap to 5-4 with a goal three minutes later, assisted by Rasmus Nousiainen and Jakub Jerman.

Paavo Hiltunen also tied the game 5-5 with a goal two minutes later, assisted by Roope Tuomioksa. The game went to overtime.

Just over one minutes in, Raymond Perrault scored the game-winner for the team, assisted by Stepan Kuznetsov and Cooper Conway.

The teams will soon play again in the next matchup on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 8 p.m. CST at El Paso County Events Center.
