At 4 a.m. Monday, the National Hurricane Center published its initial advisory of the day on the system, reporting that Tropical Depression Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 1,210 miles west-southwest of the Azores. Packing maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, the system is tracking to the south-southwest at 7 mph.

“Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours,” according to analysts.
