The National Hurricane Center’s 4 p.m. Friday update reported that Tropical Storm Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 1,075 miles west-southwest of the Azores. Packing maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, it is tracking west-southwest at 5 mph.

“A gradual turn to the southwest is expected to occur along with an increase in forward speed,” according to meteorologists. They also said “Gradual weakening is expected to occur for the next few days.”
