CHIISAGATA DISTRICT, Nagano — A 5.0 magnitude quake rattled close to Volcano Islands on Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 05:18 UTC (14:18 local time), with its epicenter of Volcano Islands and a depth of 10 km.
