A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Ende on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled the area at 09:16 UTC (17:16 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter approximately 64 km north-northwest of Ende. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.8 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
