Earthquake hits area near central Mid-Atlantic Ridge: 5.1 magnitude detected on Sept. 4

A 5.1 magnitude quake struck close to central Mid-Atlantic Ridge on Friday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor jolted the region at 23:38 UTC (20:38 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was of central Mid-Atlantic Ridge and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
