Earthquake measuring 5.1 strikes area near Coquimbo, Chile on Sept. 3

A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Coquimbo on Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which shook the region at 06:04 UTC (02:04 local time), was centered roughly 42 km northwest of Coquimbo. It occurred at a depth of 55 km.
