Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake registered near Ende, Indonesia on Aug. 20

A 5.0 magnitude quake struck close to Ende on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 19:24 UTC (03:24 local time), with its epicenter roughly 69 km northwest of Ende and a depth of 10 km.

Last week, the area has experienced seven earthquakes of magnitude 5.5 or greater. The strongest, a 7.8 magnitude tremor, rocked the same region on Aug. 15.
