A 5.2 magnitude quake struck near Ende on Monday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 03:36 UTC (11:36 local time). The epicenter was approximately 91 km north-northwest of Ende, at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.3 but later downgraded to 5.2.

Five tremors of magnitude 5.5 or higher have been detected in the region in the past week. The largest one was a 7.8 earthquake that was registered in the same area on Aug. 15.
