A 5.3 magnitude quake jolted near Ende on Monday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit at 03:36 UTC (11:36 local time), with its epicenter roughly 68 km north-northwest of Ende and a depth of 10 km.

Five tremors of magnitude 5.5 or higher have been detected in the region in the past week. The largest one was a 7.7 earthquake that was registered in the same area on Aug. 15.
