Western Michigan won the playoff knock-out game against the Denver Pioneers 4-3 on Saturday, March 21, 2025.
WMU’s Alex Bump scored the game-winning goal.
The first period was scoreless, and early in the second period, the Pioneers took the lead when Jake Fisher scored the first goal assisted by Samu Salminen and Garrett Brown.
The Pioneers made it 2-0 with a goal from Eric Pohlkamp.
Zeev Buium then tallied a goal halfway through, making the score 3-0.
The Broncos narrowed the gap to 3-1 early in the third period when Zack Sharp found the back of the net, assisted by Liam Valente and Grant Slukynsky.
The Broncos’ Alex Bump narrowed the gap again, assisted by Owen Michaels at 13:19 into the third period.
Tim Washe tied it up 3-3 with a goal three minutes later, assisted by Iiro Hakkarainen and Joona Väisänen.
The Broncos made it 4-3 when Alex Bump scored.
