TAPACHULA, Chis. — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Puerto Madero on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 15:19 UTC (09:19 local time), a tremor shook the area at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 106 km west-southwest of Puerto Madero.

In the past week, there have been three tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above centered nearby. The strongest, a 7.3 magnitude quake, rocked in the same region prior to this quake.
