NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — A 5.1 magnitude quake struck close to Hihifo on Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 14:43 UTC (03:43 local time). The epicenter was about 200 km east-southeast of Hihifo, at a depth of 10 km.
