A 5.2 magnitude quake hit near Karpathos at midday on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck the area at 11:06 UTC (13:06 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter approximately 23 km south-southeast of Karpathos.
