A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Balangonan on Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 08:13 UTC (16:13 local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 77 km, with its epicenter approximately 37 km west-southwest of Balangonan. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.3 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
