Update: Fire weather watch issued for Fremont County for Monday – increased fire danger

The National Weather Service released an updated fire weather watch at 4 p.m. on Saturday valid for Monday between noon and 7 p.m. for Fremont County including Canon City/Howard/Texas Creek.

Expect winds to be west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 10%.

“Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution and avoid any outdoor burning,” explains the NWS.

According to the NWS, a fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
