A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred near Yamada on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 08:02 UTC (18:02 local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 35 km, with its epicenter approximately 117 km east of Yamada. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.4 but later downgraded to 5.3.
