Update: 5.0 magnitude earthquake jolts near Merizo Village, Guam on April 9

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Merizo Village on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 15:25 UTC (01:25 local time). The epicenter was approximately 193 km southwest of Merizo Village, at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.9 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
