Update: April 29 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake detected close to Prince Edward Islands region

A 5.3 magnitude quake shook close to Prince Edward Islands region on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 16:27 UTC (19:27 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter of Prince Edward Islands region. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.0 event, but later upgraded it to 5.3.
