Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 strikes area close to Tatsugō, Japan on April 23

OSHIMA DISTRICT, Kagoshima — A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Tatsugō on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 22:52 UTC (07:52 local time), with its epicenter about 149 km east of Tatsugō and a depth of 10 km.
