PISCO PROVINCE, Ica — A 5.2 magnitude quake hit near Paracas on Thursday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor, which jolted the area at 08:09 UTC (03:09 local time), was centered about 96 km south-southwest of Paracas. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
