Update: Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude registered close to Atka, AK on April 11

ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — A 5.2 magnitude quake struck close to Atka at midday on Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 12:39 a.m. (1:39 p.m. local time), a tremor jolted the region at a depth of 33 miles, with its epicenter approximately 116 miles east-southeast of Atka.
