Update: April 3 – 5.5 magnitude earthquake recorded near Ternate, Indonesia

A 5.5 magnitude quake shook near Ternate around midday Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 03:37 UTC (12:37 local time). It occurred at a depth of 35 km with the epicenter about 112 km west of Ternate. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.4 but later upgraded to 5.5.
