On Tuesday at 2:16 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a fire weather watch valid for Wednesday between noon and 7 p.m. for Central and South Weld County.

The NWS states that the warning was issued for wind and low relative humidity. Winds are forecasted to be from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph and relative humidity as low as 14%. On Wednesday, as low as 11%.

“Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire,” adds the NWS.

A fire weather watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
