ISHKOSHIM, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.4 magnitude quake hit near Ishqoshim Wednesday afternoon.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 11:12 UTC (16:12 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 33 km north of Ishqoshim, at a depth of 121 km.
