Update: Earthquake strikes region close to Hihifo, Tonga on Feb. 3 – 5.2 magnitude reported

NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake shook close to Hihifo Tuesday morning.

At 19:34 UTC (07:34 local time), the area was jolted by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter about 92 km northeast of Hihifo.
