Update: Earthquake measuring 5.2 strikes area near Finschhafen, Papua New Guinea on Feb. 3

TAWAE-SIASSI DISTRICT, Morobe Province — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake jolted close to Finschhafen Tuesday morning.

At 19:21 UTC (05:21 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 67 km, with its epicenter approximately 44 km northwest of Finschhafen.
