Update: Jan. 27 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Ozernovskiy, Russia

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.0 magnitude quake shook close to Ozernovskiy Tuesday afternoon.

The tremor, which hit the area at 04:29 UTC (15:29 local time), was centered roughly 254 km east-southeast of Ozernovskiy. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
