CHIISAGATA DISTRICT, Nagano — A 5.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Volcano Islands Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which struck the area at 22:02 UTC (08:02 local time), was centered of Volcano Islands. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
