TASIKMALAYA REGENCY, West Java — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake occurred near Kawalu Tuesday morning.

The tremor, which rattled the region at 18:00 UTC (01:00 local time), was centered about 101 km south of Kawalu. It occurred at a depth of 84 km.
