ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK — A 5.2 magnitude quake was detected near Sand Point Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 7:38 p.m. (8:38 a.m. local time), with its epicenter situated approximately 76 miles south-southeast of Sand Point and a depth of 22 miles.
