Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake strikes close to Hayuliang, India on Jan. 21

EAST DIVISION, AR — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Hayuliang Wednesday morning.

At 21:43 UTC (03:13 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 30 km, with its epicenter roughly 92 km south-southeast of Hayuliang. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later upgraded it to 5.2.
