Jan. 6: Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude recorded near Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands

A 5.0 magnitude quake was registered close to Saipan on Tuesday around midday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 03:14 UTC (13:14 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 260 km north of Saipan, at a depth of 224 km.
