CENTRAL ASSAM DIVISION, AS — According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake struck close to Morigaon Sunday morning.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 22:47 UTC (04:17 local time). The epicenter was located approximately 9 km north of Morigaon, at a depth of 51 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.4 event, but later downgraded it to 5.2.
