According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake struck near Merizo Village Wednesday morning.

The tremor jolted the area at 22:37 UTC (08:37 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated about 236 km southwest of Merizo Village.
