Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 shakes area close to Modisi, Indonesia on Dec. 4

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.0 magnitude quake jolted near Modisi on Thursday around midday.

At 04:23 UTC (13:23 local time), the region was rattled by a tremor. The earthquake struck at a depth of 76 km, with its epicenter roughly 159 km east-southeast of Modisi. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.0.
