Update: Seismic activity on Dec. 4 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake near Mid-Atlantic Ridge detected

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Mid-Atlantic Ridge at midday on Thursday.

At 12:35 UTC (11:35 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter south of Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
