According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred near Honchō Thursday morning.

The tremor struck the area at 22:09 UTC (08:09 local time). It occurred at a depth of 28 km with the epicenter situated about 121 km south of Honchō.
