Update: Seismic activity on Nov. 29 – 5.8 magnitude earthquake close to Macquarie Island reported

Saturday morning, a 5.8 magnitude quake was detected near Macquarie Island, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor hit the area at 22:47 UTC (08:47 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter situated west of Macquarie Island.
